SW International admitted as a Member of the Forum of Firms

SW International admitted as a Member of the Forum of Firms

We are delighted to announce that SW International was officially admitted as a member of the Forum of Firms (“FoF”) on 1 July 2022. Joining the FoF, a prestigious and globally recognised association of international networks of accounting firms under the International Federation of Accountants (“IFAC”), is a momentous milestone for SW International and will be of great benefits to our member firms across the world.

Being a FoF member affirms SW International as a network committed to delivering high quality transnational audit services. Mr. Zhang Ke, Chairman of SW International, stated: “In order to gain FoF membership, SW International had to demonstrate it had successfully implemented a global quality monitoring program to monitor the effectiveness of member firms’ audit quality control policies and procedures. The program ensures that member firms of SW International and their personnel comply with professional standards and applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Our admission to FoF steps up our long-term strategy to enhance our consistent application of quality control and ethical requirements globally.”

SW International’s FoF membership will enable us to engage constructively in global developments of the accountancy profession and work at par with firms that perform transnational audits. The FoF membership will provide members of SW International with enhanced reputation and business opportunities, for example in gaining transnational audits of world class financial services institutions and large multi-national companies.

Looking forward, SW International, as a member of FoF, will foster sound and close relationships with international regulatory and standard setting bodies. With a globally integrated quality management system, we are dedicated to ensuring a consistent application of high-quality audit practises across the network and creating global growth opportunities for both our clients and our people.

About the Forum of Firms

The FoF is an independent association of international networks of firms that perform transnational audits. The Forum’s objective is to promote consistent and high-quality standards of financial reporting and auditing practices worldwide — bringing together firms that perform transnational audits and involving them more closely with IFAC’s activities in audit and other assurance-related areas. Forum members must demonstrate their commitment to adhere to and promote the consistent application of high-quality audit practices worldwide, as detailed in the Forum’s Constitution, operating procedures, and governance arrangements.

ShineWing unveils a dynamic new brand in SW to support global growth strategy

ShineWing unveils a dynamic new brand in SW to support global growth strategy

ShineWing International, a global network of independent accounting and advisory firms, today unveiled a new look to the world that included a new simplified brand name SW, along with new logo design and visual identity. It is a complete rebrand to better reflect the global nature of businesses and target markets, while also capturing our position as a global professional network with deep Asian roots.

The various dots in the new logo represent SW’s rapidly growing global professional services network, with three orange dots in an arrow shape illustrating our capability to drive progression. The modern calligraphy-style font echoes the SW network’s heritage while recognising our dynamic look and image.

The rebrand comes at an important time amid business and wealth growth around the world as it starts to emerge from a pandemic hibernation. Our industry is reshaped by the convergence of accounting practices across multiple jurisdictions, ever-changing regulatory requirements, along with different tax reforms. A deep local knowledge of the laws, regulations and business culture is extremely valuable, as businesses and individuals look to maximise efficiency. We have the reach and resources to deliver precisely that expertise.

“Our branding was in need of a revamp to reflect the nature of the business, which is now radically different from how it was years ago,” said Mr. Zhang Ke, Chairman of SW International. “The new branding represents the growth and global reach of SW, while maintaining continuity in our history and strengths.”

The new SW tagline, “Catalyst for success”, puts emphasis on how SW supports and accelerates the process of achieving the aspirations of clients, member firms and employees, driven by a rapidly expanding network of offices with the expertise to facilitate transnational opportunities.

The SW network now has more than 10,000 professionals, including over 480 partners, located in more than 80 offices in 16 regions around the world.

Mr. Marco Carlei, Managing Director of SW International added, “Our strategy is to expand growth in Europe, Africa, Middle East, America and other parts of the world. We are a leading international professional services organisation that has deep roots in Asia. We remain totally committed to offering quality and seamless services and creating benchmarks for the future. We look forward to growing our presence and business to drive continued success.”

The First Managing Partners Video Conference

The First Managing Partners Video Conference

On 14 May 2020, ShineWing International hosted its first Managing Partners video conference. Along with all the ShineWing International Board Members, all Managing Partners of the ShineWing international network covering 14 different countries and regions also joined the event, namely China, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Pakistan, Egypt, Malaysia, UK, Indonesia, India, Taiwan, Thailand and Germany. The video conference was chaired by Mr. Marco Carlei, the Managing Director of ShineWing International.

Mr. Zhang Ke, Chairman of the ShineWing International, delivered an opening speech and shared his insights on the tremendous impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on the global market, covering production, work methods, supply chain, lifestyle and many other areas. All Managing Partners have reported the latest working status of their regional offices and it is inevitable that every member firm is enduring the shock wave of this pandemic to a certain extent. For this reason, all Partners have come up with a consensus that we should take this opportunity to enhance the internal IT infrastructure to strengthen the operating modes, re-examine and transform the existing business models and explore any flexible work methods beyond time and location constraints. Going forward, all ShineWing member firms are encouraged to turn the challenges posed by the outbreak into a driving force in order to actively explore new business opportunities and reduce operating costs.

All Managing Partners from the 14 member firms had also exchanged their views on their local policies and actions in response to the epidemic, the material impact brought by the pandemic to the firm in their local markets, the future development plans and the expectations on the strategic goals of ShineWing International.

Facing the daunting challenges caused by COVID-19, ShineWing International has still demonstrated high agility and coherency in its global development. For example, ShineWing Indonesia admitted 5 new partners and now has more than 100 staff in total; ShineWing Pakistan launched another new office in its capital, Islamabad; ShineWing India has recruited two new partners who are specializing in taxation and Information & Technology respectively enhancing our service capability in new technology, automation and digital business. Besides, member firms in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand have also made significant achievements in diversifying business portfolios and sourcing new clients.

Under the on-going pandemic, all member firms have adopted a strict prevention policy to ensure the health and safety of our staff. We have implemented adequate workplace policies and prevention measures to minimize the chance of virus infection, including allowing remote working and requiring mandatory health declaration.

At the end of the conference, Mr. Marco Carlei stressed that ShineWing International would continue to expand the presence in Europe and Latin America. He encouraged all Managing Partners to actively engage in business exchanges and experience sharing in order to realize the full potential of the global network and to empower the connectivity with the clients.

ShineWing International will continue to strive for continued growth along with our strategic roadmap, navigate new business opportunities through challenges and enhance our competitiveness and presence in the global markets.
